This figure increased by 16.8% compared to 2024, with the main source of inflow being transfers from Russia, which grew by 16.1%.
The increase in the amount of remittances in dollar terms was also linked to the strengthening of the ruble against the dollar, which occurred by 24% over the year ending in 2025. It is important to note that the ruble exchange rate reached its peak since mid-2022.
Economic Consequences
At the same time, the exchange rate of the Kyrgyz som to the US dollar remained stable, and over the past year, the national currency lost only 0.5% of its value.
The growth in the volume of remittances had a positive impact on domestic demand, contributing to a 17.8% increase in the volume of domestic trade in Kyrgyzstan by the end of the year.
