The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, spoke at the "Agrodialog" forum, where he discussed the achievements in the country's agricultural sector. He emphasized the key indicators achieved in 2024.

The production of agricultural products in the country amounted to 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more than the previous year, with a growth rate of 102.2%. In the processing industry, this figure reached 104.7 billion soms, increasing by 16.2 billion soms, with a growth rate of 130.1%.

Positive results are also observed in the area of exports: more than 60 types of agricultural products began to be supplied to over 80 countries, and the population is provided with 6 out of 9 main types of socially significant food. "These successes are the result of your hard work. Every year we see how the efforts of the government and business become more coordinated, allowing us to address issues related to fuel, lending, and other important aspects," noted Kasymaliev.

In his speech, he mentioned the National Program for Agricultural Development until 2030, which includes several key directions: increasing agricultural production by 30%, doubling processing, reducing water losses to 15%, as well as increasing the area of irrigated land by 15,000 hectares and improving water availability for 93,000 hectares.

He also emphasized that 12.3 billion soms are allocated to the irrigation sector in 2026, while the total funding for agriculture is planned at 41.1 billion soms, which is significantly higher compared to 31.5 billion soms in 2025.

Kasymaliev spoke about the need to strengthen the material base in the field of seed production and breeding livestock, as well as the importance of concessional loans for implementing projects in this area. The head of the cabinet expressed his intention to increase the share of processed agricultural products to 25% by 2030 and to 50% by 2040, while currently this figure stands at only 7%. To achieve this, it will be necessary to put into operation 385 new processing enterprises, of which 75 should be launched by 2026.

During his speech, he cited examples of successful countries, such as the Netherlands, where income from tulips exceeds 1 billion euros, and Turkey, which exports dried apricots worth about 400 million dollars a year. Kasymaliev noted that Kyrgyzstan is already starting to export dried apricots and emphasized the need to continue working so that Kyrgyz apricots become known on the international stage.
To achieve these goals, it is important to improve the quality and value of domestic products, as well as to develop a culture of consumption. Kasymaliev also highlighted the significance of science and education in the agricultural sector, expecting serious contributions from the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University and scientists in the development of agriculture.

As part of the forum, a ceremony was also held to award employees of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
