The State Tax Service emphasized that when paying at restaurants and cafes, a fiscal receipt from the cash register (KKM) must be issued. The agency noted that instead, clients are often offered a so-called pre-check, which contains the names of the ordered dishes and is generated in the establishment's accounting system, or even simply a screenshot with the order details.

In addition, establishments participating in the pilot project for the implementation of fiscal software are required to use it with the function of online data transmission. This was also highlighted in the tax service's message.

For enterprises not involved in the pilot project, it is necessary to use cash registers that are registered in accordance with the established procedure.

Depending on the format of the establishment's operations, either fiscal software with online data transmission or a registered cash register is used.

It is important to note that the fiscal receipt is the only document that confirms the registration of payment in the tax system, the receipt of taxes into the budget, and the protection of consumer rights.

The tax service urges citizens to demand fiscal receipts when making payments in cafes and restaurants.
