Kyrgyzstan and the European Union are working on creating a plan that will help remove the country's banks from the sanctions regime. This was announced in a statement from the Cabinet of Ministers.

The parties discussed the current situation regarding sanctions and exchanged opinions.

Daniyar Amangeldiev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is actively strengthening financial monitoring and striving to enhance the transparency of foreign economic operations.

He added that effective control over exports and finances requires joint responsibility from all participants in foreign economic activity, including European suppliers.

The importance of good faith compliance by European exporters with their obligations in the area of control was also highlighted.

Amangeldiev also reported on measures aimed at improving control mechanisms in banks.

The Kyrgyz side emphasized the need to create clear and transparent procedures and highlighted the importance of reliable and up-to-date information for making informed decisions and coordinating actions.

Furthermore, the meeting noted that it is necessary to develop a joint action plan and determine the format for further technical interaction aimed at gradually addressing issues related to sanctions against specific banks.

EU Special Envoy David O'Sullivan noted that transparency in operations is the foundation of trust from European and international institutions.

He also stated that specific proposals for cooperation aimed at removing banks from the sanctions list and minimizing financial risks in the future have already been sent to the Kyrgyz side.
