According to information from the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise, in response to the directive from the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan aimed at providing the population with quality electricity, the branch of JSC "NES Kyrgyzstan" has started updating electrical equipment and carrying out repair work. These activities are aimed at preparing for the autumn-winter season of 2026-2027.
This year, major projects are planned in the Batken region aimed at improving the condition of electrical networks and ensuring reliable electricity supply for consumers.
As for the 6-10/0.4 kV transformers:
• 284 transformers will undergo major repairs;
• 1632 transformers will receive maintenance.
Regarding the overhead lines 6-10/0.4 kV:
• 1538 km of overhead lines will undergo major repairs;
• 3847 km of overhead lines will be subjected to maintenance.
In relation to high-voltage overhead lines 220/110/35 kV:
• 1400 km of overhead lines will be inspected, of which:
— 20 km will undergo major repairs;
— 1380 km will be serviced as part of current repairs;
• Additionally, the installation of 8772 new glass insulators is planned.
As for the substations 220/110/35 kV:
• 45 substations will undergo scheduled maintenance;
• 5 substations will be majorly repaired.
In addition, as part of the automation of the electricity transmission system, the installation of 54,587 units of intelligent metering devices (AMI) is planned in the Batken region in 2026. Also, in some settlements, 32 km of self-supporting insulated wires SIP-2 and SIP-3 will be laid.
The main goal of these works is to increase the reliability of electrical networks, reduce technical losses, and ensure quality and uninterrupted electricity supply for consumers. These activities are relevant for successfully navigating the autumn-winter period of 2026-2027 and improving the condition of the region's electrical networks.
