Taxes can be deducted directly from the accounts and wallets of Kyrgyz citizens

According to the clarification from the State Tax Service, this measure applies only to confirmed debts and comes into effect 30 days after notification of the need for payment.

The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan has explained the rules for deducting tax debts, which can be carried out directly from the bank accounts and electronic wallets of citizens.

This possibility arose due to changes in the Tax Code, adopted on December 31, 2025, and from January 1, 2026, the new norms began to apply to both businesses and individuals.

The principle of operation is as follows:

If a citizen has a recorded tax debt and does not pay it within 30 days after receiving notification, the tax service can send a special request to the bank or electronic payment operator. As a result, funds will be automatically deducted from the bank account or electronic wallet and transferred to the budget.

The tax service emphasizes that this measure only concerns recognized debts, that is, amounts that:

If the debt is disputed, such measures will not be applied.

Additionally, the code has introduced the concept of electronic payment system operators, allowing requests to be directed to electronic wallets as well.

The tax authority notes that these changes are aimed at simplifying the debt collection process and making it more transparent. A draft resolution has also been prepared to clarify the procedure for applying the new norms.

The tax service reminds that paying taxes is the obligation of every citizen, as enshrined in the Constitution, and the new mechanisms are aimed at ensuring the timely receipt of funds into the budget.
