Kyrgyzstan is significantly expanding its relations with the United States in the fields of digital economy and information technology. Over the past five years, the volume of IT service exports from the country to the USA has increased 45 times, according to data presented by the High Technology Park of Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, speaking at the "Central Asia – USA" (C5+1) summit in Washington, emphasized that the development of information technologies and artificial intelligence is one of the main areas of Kyrgyz-American cooperation.
Under the slogan "Live in Kyrgyzstan - work with the whole world", the country is actively developing initiatives for digitalization and support for IT service exports. Kyrgyzstan has become one of the first countries in the region to adopt a "Digital Code," which has contributed to creating an attractive environment for investments and innovations in the IT sector.
The current situation in the IT and creative economy demonstrates significant growth. While Kyrgyzstan previously did not export IT products to the USA, the volume of IT services supplied to this country has increased 45 times over the past five years. In 2024, Kyrgyz specialists provided services in more than 63 countries for a total of 130 million dollars, with the USA becoming the largest market for exports, accounting for almost 40% of all IT services, including companies working with Silicon Valley," Japarov noted.
It is also reported that Kyrgyzstan has entered the list of twenty countries in the world with a high level of acceptance and use of cryptocurrencies (Chainalysis, 2024), highlighting the country's significant potential in the field of financial and regulatory technologies (RegTech).
In this context, the Kyrgyz side proposed to the USA to consider the possibility of creating a regional RegTech Trust Hub in the country, which would serve as a foundation for the joint development of digital regulation, innovations, and reliable technologies.
These initiatives reflect Kyrgyzstan's strategic goal of strengthening international partnerships, promoting digital transformation, and creating a sustainable IT ecosystem integrated into the global digital economy," the statement emphasizes.
