According to information provided by UBTech Robotics, an order worth 264 million yuan (~37 million dollars) will be used to install humanoid robots Walker S2 at border checkpoints in Guangxi. These machines will assist in accompanying travelers, managing crowds, as well as in patrolling and logistics. This agreement is one of the most significant in the field of industrial humanoid implementation, as stated by HiTech+.

The Walker S2 robot, which was unveiled in July, will be a key component of this project. The agreement was signed with the humanoid robotics center located in the coastal city of Fangchenggang, which is on the border with Vietnam. Deliveries are expected to begin as early as December.

At the border control points, the Walker S2 will be used to accompany tourists, manage crowds, and will also assist in patrolling and logistics. There are also plans to use the robots for inspections at metallurgical enterprises. Previously, similar humanoids have been used in airports, at international summits, and in law enforcement agencies.

The height of the Walker S2 robot is approximately 1.76 meters, and it is equipped with 52 degrees of freedom, including 11 on each arm, allowing it to perform precise manipulations, pick up, and grasp objects. The robot can lift loads of up to 15 kilograms with each arm, as well as perform deep squats and bends while maintaining balance at speeds of up to 7.2 km/h (2 m/s).

One of the key features of the Walker S2 is its autonomous system with two batteries. The robot can change a depleted battery for a fully charged one in just three minutes. The BrainNet 2.0 and Co-Agent AI systems provide multimodal thinking, task planning, and quick responses to unforeseen circumstances, while the binocular RGB stereo system allows it to perceive depth just like a human.

The total volume of orders for the Walker series has already reached 1.1 billion yuan (about 115 million dollars). UBTech intends to deliver 500 robots by the end of this year, with plans to increase production volume tenfold next year and reach an output of 10,000 units per year by 2027, while reducing production costs.
