Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, visited the construction site of the tunnel on the railway section connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, in the Toshu-Kutchu area.
During the visit, information about the progress of construction work was presented to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The railway project, which connects China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, runs from Torugart through Arpu, Kosh-Dobo, and Makmal to Jalal-Abad, covering 304.94 km. The section from Torugart to Makmal (160 km) will use a track gauge of 1435 mm, while from Makmal to Jalal-Abad (145 km) it will be 1520 mm wide. A transshipment station and a logistics center are planned to be built in the Makmal area.
More than 5,000 people and 5,695 units of equipment are involved in the project. Construction work has begun on 18 out of 29 tunnels.
Work is also underway on 17 out of 50 bridges and 28 out of 602 culverts.













Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of the quality implementation of this significant infrastructure project.
