Our People Abroad: B. Mingbaev Lives in a Country with Exhausting Heat, Sometimes Too Formal Communication, and a Lack of Time
Babur was born in 1991 in Osh. He is married and has children.
“My parents are hardworking and simple people who taught me to achieve success through my own efforts. I have brothers and sisters, each of whom has their own family and job,” he shared.
In 2023, Babur visited Dubai for the first time.
“This trip became not just a journey, but a step towards achieving a big goal. At that time, I was successfully managing a dental clinic in Kyrgyzstan, but I aspired to a new level by working in a modern medical system. This journey became a landmark in my life,” he said.
Babur has also managed to visit many countries, including China, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russia, and the UAE, and noted that each of them has its own order and cultural features. He particularly remembers cities like Istanbul, St. Petersburg, Urumqi, Shanghai, and of course, Dubai. “Traveling has helped me broaden my horizons,” he added.
Regarding obtaining a dental practice license in Dubai, Babur noted that this process turned out to be complicated and required him to overcome many difficulties.
“Working as a dentist in Dubai was not an easy task, especially at first — the language and system here are completely different. But after some time, I was able to find a job and establish my life. The conditions are good now, and at the clinic where I work, I have many regular patients,” he explains.
According to Babur, dentistry is a highly precise and responsible profession, where each day brings new challenges. “Sometimes I experience physical and moral fatigue, but the most important thing for me is the trust of people and their smiles. Every grateful patient is my motivation. I love my job,” he noted.
Obtaining the license turned out to be a challenging test: “I failed the exam twice and only passed it on the third attempt. But this is very valuable to me. Now I accept patients at an international level and receive positive feedback from them — this is the highest reward for me,” Babur added.
He also shared his goals: “First of all, I want to open my own clinic and pass on international experience to young doctors from Kyrgyzstan. Secondly, I run a blog where I share my journey. In my free time, I enjoy sports, making videos, and spending time with loved ones — this gives me strength,” the Kyrgyzstani said.
On his perception of Dubai, Babur said:
“There is order and system here. Time in Dubai is the most valuable currency. All government services are fully transitioned to electronic format. The level of security is high, and people show respect for each other. Everything is done according to the law and strictly by the rules, which contributes to personal development.”
“Islam plays an important role here, but equal rights are upheld for representatives of different nations and religions. The locals are polite and cultured. The state is open to migrants, but everyone must strictly follow the laws. Traditions are based on respect for family and others, which has enriched my worldview,” he added.
However, Babur also noted some negative aspects: “I am concerned about the exhausting heat, sometimes overly formal communication, and the lack of time. But one can get used to all of this.”
The hardest part for him remains the longing for his homeland and loved ones: “The nature and openness of people in Kyrgyzstan have always been close to me,” he confessed.
Babur also shared a memorable case from his practice:
“Once, a little child came to the clinic who was very afraid of dentists and refused to open his mouth. He sat there crying, burying his face in his mother. To calm him down, I put on red pants over my coat and came out with a toy dental tool. Now I remember this with a smile — it must have looked funny,” he said.
“At some point, the boy laughed and said, ‘You look like a real superhero!’ Only after that did he allow me to examine and treat his tooth,” Babur added. “I didn’t receive any medals, but the trust of that child became my greatest reward.”
