During the IV People's Kurultai, delegate Zalkarbek Makambaev from the Suzak district expressed regret that the youth are learning about the world around them using the language of a neighboring nation. According to him, the village of Kara-Darya, located on the border with Uzbekistan, does not have access to national television channels. This leads to the younger generation being forced to learn a language that is not their native one, which causes great concern among the residents.

“Due to the predominance of television from the neighboring country, our children learn to see the world through the lens of a foreign culture,” he noted.

In addition, the delegate raised the issue of the absence of domestic mobile operators in border villages. Local residents have to use roaming from the neighboring state, which often leads to communication disruptions. “We strongly request the installation of a television tower and antennas from local operators in our village,” added Makambaev.

He also pointed out the lack of cultural infrastructure. In a village with a population of 18,000, there is no cultural center, and all events take place in the school hall. The delegate proposed to include the restoration of the old cultural center in the work plan for 2026.

“The construction of a dam is also an important issue. We have developed an economically viable option for this project, which, if implemented at the state level, will bring 600 hectares of irrigated land into circulation, ensure safety for 170 households, and complete the installation of fences on the border,” he concluded.

Today, the first day of the IV People's Kurultai started at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after T. Satylganov, with 700 delegates elected from 231 rural districts and 33 cities participating. The Kurultai will continue its work tomorrow.
