According to elDiario.es and Univision Noticias, an investigation into allegations against Julio Iglesias began two years ago. During the course of the investigation, two women who previously worked in his homes reported instances of harassment and violence that occurred in 2021, as reported by Forbes.ru.
Two women, former employees of Julio Iglesias, made serious accusations against him, recounting experiences of sexual harassment. They shared this in an interview for elDiario.es and Univision Noticias, as part of a three-year investigation.
Laura and Rebecca (names changed) shared their memories of working in Iglesias' residences. They claim they became victims of verbal abuse, humiliation, and sexual violence.
Laura recounted that in 2021, Iglesias kissed her and touched her breasts without her consent, causing her pain. Rebecca added that at the age of 77, the singer regularly summoned her after work for sexual encounters against her will, stating, "He used me almost every night. I felt like an object, a slave."
The investigation conducted by elDiario.es and Univision Noticias took three years and culminated in a lawsuit filed by lawyers from the organization Women’s Link Worldwide in the National Court of Spain.
“Our appeal to the court should serve as a signal for everyone who has suffered from Julio Iglesias' actions to speak out and believe in justice. To know that this did not happen only to them. This man continued to do this for many years,” Laura noted.
