In the Bakai-Ata district, in the area of Besh-Kol, ancient petroglyphs created during the Bronze Age were discovered, as reported by ecologist Gamal Sooronkulov in an interview with a Turmush correspondent.

According to the specialist, these artifacts were found in the basin of the Uyr-Maral River.

“The stones depict ‘trophy’ goats, hunting scenes with dogs, as well as ‘walking’ camels and marals. These images represent a history captured in stone that has been preserved for centuries. It is believed that the petroglyphs date back to the Bronze Age, starting from 2000 BC. At the top of the area, there are five lakes, which is what gave it the name Besh-Kol,” he added.
