In the Bakai-Ata district of the Talas region, among the Kümüştak mountains, lies the mausoleum of Boz-Tektir, which is also known as a "mazar" [a place of worship for a Muslim saint].

This information was provided by Isken Zholchubekov, a resident of the village of Namatbek in the Bakai-Ata district.

According to him, there are many legends associated with this place.

“My paternal grandfather told me an interesting tale. In ancient times, battles took place here between Muslims and followers of other beliefs. Many people lost their lives during those times. The main commander of the Muslims was Boz-Tektir. Instead of burying his soldiers, he simply placed stones around the spots where the bodies lay, as there was not enough time for digging graves. Eventually, when Boz-Tektir was left alone, he took shelter from the enemies next to a large stone, which, as if by magic, absorbed him, protecting him from the invaders. The legend says that the guardian of Boz-Tektir was a golden eagle, and if you look closely, the 3-meter stone indeed resembles the silhouette of this bird,” shared his memories I. Zholchubekov.

He added that there are many stones in the vicinity of the mausoleum.

The mausoleum is located 16-17 km from Namatbek, and people who come there read prayers.
