Amid the picturesque landscape of the Jeti-Oguz district in the Issyk-Kul region lies an old mill that has survived to this day. A teacher from the village of Chon-Jargyichak, Bolot Urkaliev, shared information about this unique object with a correspondent from Turmush.

According to Urkaliev, his native village is located near the highway, and the first mill in this place was built by his maternal grandparents.

“Previously, not only local residents came here, but also people from neighboring villages to grind grain. My grandfather worked at the mill and generously distributed flour free of charge. This mill still stands,” the teacher reminisced.

Villagers note that this structure is known as the “Biytyke Mill,” in honor of the person who first opened it and provided services to the villagers, also engaging in charitable activities.

“Over time, similar mills began to appear in other settlements. The first one was built more than a century ago from wood, near the river. Nearby was the house of Biytyke, where films were also shot,” the locals added.
