In Davos, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the first participants of his new initiative called the "Council of Peace."

On stage were high-profile representatives from 19 countries, who were introduced as the founders of this group led by Trump.

The countries represented included: Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia. This was reported by the Financial Times, highlighting the absence of representatives from Western Europe.

Initially, the "Council of Peace" was planned as part of the Gaza recovery program, but its tasks have been significantly expanded.

Recently, seven countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt, confirmed their participation in this initiative. Israel also expressed its intention to participate.

Countries such as Morocco, Belarus, and Bahrain have already joined the project.

Canada, Russia, and the United Kingdom also received invitations. In the morning, British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper told the BBC that the country would not sign the agreement that day due to concerns about the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“You are the leaders of your countries. Many of you are very popular, some less so, but that’s okay,” Trump addressed the future members of the "Council of Peace," of which he will be the chairman.

Trump noted that the "Council of Peace" will work in conjunction with the UN.

He also stated that the world has become “richer, safer, and more peaceful than a year ago.”

According to him, the Council will interact with the UN and other states.

The U.S. President did not miss the opportunity to highlight his achievements, saying that he has “resolved eight conflicts” and added that “one of them will be concluded soon.”

Donald Trump officially signed the charter of the "Council of Peace," created at his initiative.

“We will achieve peace around the world, and this will be a significant contribution to history for all of us. Everyone present here is a star; otherwise, you wouldn’t be in this room. <...> Once the Council is fully formed, we will be able to undertake virtually any initiative. We will act in conjunction with the UN,” Trump stated in his opening speech.

The White House confirmed that the "Council of Peace" has become an official organization.
