During the New Year's reception for diplomats, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Zheenbek Kulubaev, shared his views on the fact that 2026 promises to be an active and productive year in terms of international communication and foreign policy activity.
According to the minister, the upcoming year will see Kyrgyzstan hosting a busy program of international events, including receptions for high-ranking guests and foreign visits by delegations from the republic. Key high-level meetings with leaders from both traditional and new partner countries are also planned. Cooperation with international and regional organizations will gain new momentum, which, in the minister's opinion, will help strengthen mutually beneficial relations and support sustainable development.
An important aspect for Kyrgyzstan will be its chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which began in September of last year. Within the framework of this chairmanship, a jubilee SCO summit is expected to be held with the participation of heads of state and government, as well as representatives of leading international and regional structures.

Zheenbek Kulubaev highlighted among the foreign policy priorities the need for further development of multilateral cooperation within organizations such as the UN, CIS, EAEU, CSTO, SCO, Organization of Turkic States, OSCE, and OIC, as well as on the "Central Asia +" and C5+1 platforms, including the COP-31 Summit.
Furthermore, the minister emphasized the importance of preparing for the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25," scheduled for 2027.
In conclusion, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that traditional joint activities with international partners will remain a priority, including inter-ministerial consultations, meetings of intergovernmental commissions, as well as specialized forums and initiatives in the areas of investment, business, digital technologies, youth cooperation, sports, and tourism.
