In an interview with the Kabar agency, the renowned political scientist from Azerbaijan, Professor Fikret Sadikhov of the West Caspian University, discussed the changes in Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy that have occurred under the leadership of President Sadyr Japarov, and emphasized the importance of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

According to the expert, Kyrgyzstan confidently defends its interests and pursues a balanced foreign policy.
“Systemic changes in personnel policy and the balance of power in the country have created the necessary conditions for reforms. In my opinion, Kyrgyzstan demonstrates a measured approach in foreign affairs. It is particularly noteworthy that the country is striving to strengthen ties with other Central Asian states, as well as paying attention to developing relations with European countries and the USA,” he noted.Fikret Sadikhov added that in the context of these relations, ties between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan continue to deepen, contributing to friendly cooperation. Agreements, accords, and mutual visits between the two countries open new horizons for implementing the ambitious plans put forward by President Sadyr Japarov.

“For many years, the countries that are part of the Organization of Turkic States have been holding joint events and meetings where important agreements are signed. This contributes to strengthening trust and political solidarity, developing economic and technical cooperation, as well as popularizing the cultural heritage of the Turkic world. Relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are also developing, based on a shared history,” he noted.
“Our countries have much in common in culture and traditions, we are united by language and religion. This allows us to approach modern international issues in a coordinated manner and define foreign policy priorities, which, in turn, contributes to strengthening relations both within the OTS and between its members, including Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan,” the political scientist added.
