“Employees of the national security agencies report to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief”: The GKNB of Kyrgyzstan made a statement regarding the situation with Tashiev's resignation

In connection with the recent resignation of the head of the GKNB, there has been an increase in attempts to discredit the activities of the national security agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic. These attempts manifest as one-sided statements and interpretations aimed at undermining citizens' trust in state institutions. The GKNB confirmed that its employees report to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the KR.

The state national security agencies of the KR operate in full accordance with the Constitution and legislation of the country, adhering to the principles of legality, objectivity, and accountability to society. The main task of the agency is to protect the security of the state, uphold constitutional order, the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as to counter terrorism, extremism, corruption, and other threats.

We are confident that any questions and doubts should be resolved exclusively within the legal framework, based on facts and verified information. Attempts to undermine the reputation of state structures without arguments can negatively affect not only a specific agency but also the overall level of trust.

The GKNB calls on the public, the media, and high-ranking officials to refrain from harsh criticism of employees, as they responsibly fulfill their official duties.

The national security agencies will continue their work to ensure the country's security consistently and principled in the interests of the people and the state.
