The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic announced observed attempts in the media to discredit its work, which became particularly relevant after the recent resignation of its chairman, Kamchybek Tashiev.

In the agency's press release, it is stated that in light of recent events, "one-sided interpretations and statements are emerging in the information space that undermine citizens' trust in state institutions."

The GKNB reminded that its employees act within the framework of the law and are subordinate to the Supreme Commander of the country, adhering to the principles of legality and accountability to society.

The main tasks of the GKNB are considered to be ensuring the security of the state, protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as combating terrorism, extremism, corruption, and other threats.

The agency noted that "all arising questions and doubts should be considered exclusively within the legal framework, based on facts and verified information."

Attempts to undermine the reputation of state bodies without providing grounds can negatively affect not only the specific agency but also the overall level of trust in society.

The GKNB called on the public, the media, and high-ranking officials to refrain from "harsh criticism of employees," emphasizing that they perform their duties "with a high degree of responsibility and integrity."

The committee also assured that work to ensure the country's security will continue "consistently and fundamentally, in the interests of the people and the state."

It should be reminded that on February 10, President Sadyr Japarov signed a decree relieving Kamchybek Tashiev of his duties as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as Chairman of the GKNB.

Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov was appointed as the acting chairman of the GKNB.

Additionally, three deputies of the chairman of the GKNB were also dismissed.
