Today, the atmosphere in the Jogorku Kenesh was filled with deep emotions as deputies bid farewell to Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, who unexpectedly announced his resignation as speaker. Words of gratitude echoed in the meeting hall, but the reasons for such a decision were actively discussed in the corridors. In their speeches, the elected officials not only summarized the work of the former speaker but also called on their colleagues for unity, avoiding conflict.
One of the first to speak was deputy Janar Akayev, who noted that Turgunbek uulu demonstrated diligence and tried not to involve the parliament in contentious political games. He also highlighted the significance of the former speaker's work in the field of the Kyrgyz language.
Akayev stated: "Under your leadership, the documentation process has finally transitioned to the state language, and the language law has gained real strength."
Kamila Talieva, unlike others, was more critical, pointing out that intrigues have no place in parliament. She emphasized that the former speaker never divided his colleagues into "his own" and "others," but recently there had been excessive political strife in the Jogorku Kenesh, which, in her opinion, could have pushed Turgunbek uulu to resign.
These words were supported by Ulan Primov, who thanked his colleague for his fairness and wished him success on his new path. Akylbek Tumonbaev also expressed surprise at the suddenness of the resignation decision but thanked Turgunbek uulu for his contribution to the development of parliamentarism.
Suyunbek Omurzakov emphasized the importance of stability, positively assessing the path taken by the speaker, and called on deputies to consolidate so that the change in leadership would not affect the effectiveness of the Jogorku Kenesh.
Daniyar Tolonov added that Turgunbek uulu made the decision to leave on his own. He emphasized that during his chairmanship, the former speaker made a significant contribution to the development of parliamentarism and always sought to create comfortable working conditions for both deputies and staff.
