Meeting of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, with the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Zou Jiayi, took place recently. Congratulating Zou Jiayi on her new position, Kasymaliev expressed confidence that this meeting would lay the foundation for expanding cooperation and new opportunities for both sides, according to information from the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Adylbek Kasymaliev also emphasized that the economy of Kyrgyzstan has shown positive dynamics in recent years, which has been made possible by effective financial, fiscal, and monetary policies. He noted that the average economic growth rate over the past four years has been 10.2%.
Speaking about the progress made, the Chairman of the Cabinet mentioned the implementation of 12 reforms under the "Government Accelerators" program, which were successfully introduced in 2025 and received recognition at the World Government Summit in Dubai, held from February 2 to 5 of this year.
Discussing the energy sector, Kasymaliev noted that the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project promises significant economic, environmental, and social benefits.
In addition, he highlighted the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway as a crucial infrastructure project for the country and proposed the establishment of a credit line between the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the banks of Kyrgyzstan, focusing on priority areas such as agriculture, energy, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Zou Jiayi, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the economic growth rates of Kyrgyzstan and confirmed readiness for cooperation in this area.
As a result of this meeting, an agreement was signed between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank on the project "Development of a Sustainable Financial Market for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic."
