On February 25, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, met with Mikhail Shvydkoy, who represents the President of Russia on issues of international cultural cooperation. This was reported by the administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, the prospects and opportunities for strengthening Kyrgyz-Russian relations in the field of culture and humanitarian cooperation were discussed.

Japarov noted that the cultural sphere serves as an important foundation for deepening dialogue between states and for better mutual understanding between peoples.

He also expressed satisfaction with the successful holding of the Days of Russian Culture in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 and expressed hope that the opening of the Kyrgyz House of Science and Culture in Moscow, which is expected soon, will contribute to the further development of cultural ties.

In addition, the President of the country invited the Russian team to participate in the sixth World Nomad Games, which will take place this year.

Sadyr Japarov highlighted the digitization of the cultural space as one of the key directions. He emphasized that the legacy of Chyngyz Aitmatov, an outstanding Kyrgyz writer and thinker, serves as a true spiritual bridge between cultures.

Mikhail Shvydkoy, for his part, conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

He also mentioned that he considers Kyrgyzstan his homeland and closely follows its development, noting that the country demonstrates one of the highest rates of economic growth in the world due to stability and long-term planning.

Shvydkoy emphasized that 2028, when the centenary of Chyngyz Aitmatov will be celebrated, will be an important date for both countries, and proposed to combine efforts in celebrating this event by creating an organizing committee with the participation of the deputy prime ministers of both countries.

At the end of the meeting, Japarov and Shvydkoy confirmed their interest in further cooperation and expressed confidence that joint efforts in the cultural and humanitarian spheres would help strengthen bilateral relations.
