Ministry of Energy: 298 transformers in Bishkek will be repaired, and 38 new ones will be installed

The Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced plans to repair 298 transformers in Bishkek, which operate at a voltage of 6–10/0.4 kV. Additionally, the installation of 38 new transformers will be carried out. The work will begin in March and last until November 2026.

Funding for the equipment upgrade is provided by JSC "KUET," and the project will be implemented by the Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise.

During the repair work, an assessment of the technical condition of the transformers will be conducted, worn components will be replaced, and necessary technical maintenance will be performed.

The installation of new transformers will lead to improved quality of electricity transmission, optimization of load, and ensuring stability of power supply for the city's residents.

The repair work will cover the following areas of the electrical networks:
• Eastern RES - 113 transformers will be repaired, 25 new ones will be installed;
• Western RES - 100 transformers will be repaired, 3 new ones will be installed;
• Northern RES - 85 transformers are to be repaired, with plans to install 10 new ones.

In total, the Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise has 2248 transformers on its balance, and by the end of the year, all of them will undergo technical maintenance and repair.
