In the Jogorku Kenesh, a meeting of the Committee on Science, Education, Innovative Development, and Information Technologies, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs took place, during which information about the work of the State Agency for Personal Data Protection was presented.

During the discussion, Deputy Gulai Mashrapova raised important questions regarding the mechanisms and guarantees for the protection of citizens' biometric and personal data. Deputy Gulsharkan Kultaev also highlighted the problem of fraudulent activities in messengers, emphasizing their increase and the need to enhance digital literacy among both citizens and government employees. Mamyrov emphasized that one effective method of protection against fraud is two-factor authentication and also recommended not to publish personal data on social media. He added that the agency is actively conducting training and events for government bodies on digital security issues.
Deputy Saltanat Amanova pointed out the need to strengthen control over the use of SIM cards, considering the rise in phone fraud. She noted that criminals often use SIM cards with foreign numbers to carry out deceptive calls. Deputy Bolot Saginayev asked questions about the consequences of personal data leaks from state information systems and the guarantees for their protection. Toktobubu Ashymbaeva, the chair of the Committee, raised questions about the control and protection of personal data, highlighting the use of electronic diaries in schools. She noted that a significant amount of personal information about students and their parents is processed in this system.
