Personnel appointments: the GKNB denied political ambitions and behind-the-scenes influence

The agency called to avoid unfounded claims

The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) responded to publications in the media and social networks regarding personnel decisions within its structure. The press service of the agency noted that the need to clarify the situation arose against the backdrop of the emergence of inaccurate information.

"Recently, various information sources and social networks have featured criticism of the personnel decisions made in the security block of Kyrgyzstan. In connection with the dissemination of unverified data, the GKNB considers it important to officially express its position on this matter," the committee stated.

Some materials claim that there are "political ambitions" and behind-the-scenes influence from certain figures. However, such statements lack any evidence. Journalists rely on anonymous sources, which, according to the GKNB, contradicts the standards of quality journalism and raises doubts about the reliability of the information presented.

The committee also emphasized that all personnel appointments are made in strict accordance with current legislation. "When making decisions, the professional experience of candidates, their level of education, as well as their moral and business qualities are taken into account. Accusations of alleged 'inconsistency' with the positions held without specific facts are unfounded," the agency added.

The GKNB urges all media representatives and social media users to rely only on verified data from official sources. The dissemination of unconfirmed information can mislead the public and undermine the authority of government institutions.

"We, at the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, reaffirm our commitment to the principles of transparency and believe that constructive and honest dialogue is only possible based on facts, not anonymous assumptions," the special service concluded.
