At a meeting held between the chairman of the State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan, Alambet Shykmamatov, and the management of the Swiss technology company SICPA SA, issues of cooperation in the development of product traceability systems were discussed.

Key figures at the event included Philippe Amon, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SICPA SA, Strategic Development Director Jean-Philippe Godin, as well as other company representatives and heads of structural divisions of the STS.

The central theme of the discussion was the implementation of a system aimed at tracing the extraction of gold and related minerals, which will be adapted to the conditions of the Kyrgyz Republic. This innovation will serve as the foundation for organizing the work of artisanal mines, improving sampling, controlling the supply chain of ore and gold, as well as combating the illegal turnover of gold and its scrap.

Alambet Shykmamatov noted that the implementation of the gold traceability system is a strategically important task for the country.

He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has many deposits and companies engaged in gold mining. However, the lack of effective traceability mechanisms creates risks of data distortion and concealment of extraction volumes by unscrupulous participants.

According to Shykmamatov, significant work has already been done in cooperation with SICPA SA, a working group has been created, a roadmap project has been developed, and a foundation for practical implementation has been formed. The parties are ready to sign the necessary documents.

Philippe Amon, CEO of SICPA SA, in turn, expressed support for the STS initiative to implement a monitoring system in the gold mining industry and positively assessed the meeting.

He added that the successful implementation of this project will lay the groundwork for future joint initiatives and expand cooperation, including the implementation of similar solutions for other types of minerals.

SICPA SA is a Swiss company known for its technologies that protect banknotes, documents, and goods from counterfeiting and illegal turnover.
