In Kyrgyzstan, 85 higher educational institutions should focus on the spiritual and moral development of students alongside educational processes. This opinion was expressed at a meeting at the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn, where the importance of universities in shaping youth worldview and systematizing educational work was discussed.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, this event took place with the participation of the President's advisor Cholponbek Abykeev and the Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations Gulzat Isamatova. Rectors and vice-rectors responsible for educational work in the country's universities also participated in the discussion.

It was emphasized at the meeting that higher educational institutions should not limit themselves to purely academic activities. An important task is to create conditions for the social adaptation of students, the development of civic responsibility, and respect for national traditions in accordance with the directives of the state leadership.

Participants also noted the need to move away from a formal approach in educational activities, calling for the implementation of systematic, substantive methods. The work should not be limited to cultural and mass events and curatorial hours but should include new effective methodologies aimed at the personal development of students. The ideal of the education system was defined as creating a creative and responsible citizen capable of caring for the future of their country.

As a result of the discussion, universities were recommended to engage more actively in patriotic education, develop students' critical thinking, and support mechanisms for student self-governance.

At the end of the meeting, Cholponbek Abykeev familiarized himself with the construction process of the new KNU building and the activities of the university's situational center.
