However, there will still be consequences for this
In Kyrgyzstan, students may have their fines for missing classes abolished, as was revealed during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
During the discussion of Gulzat Isamatova's candidacy for the position of Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed a request to end the practice of imposing financial penalties on university students for absences.
“How can we expect to improve the level of education if we are simply taking money from students? Universities need to remember their primary task — education. I urge you to abolish this practice in all educational institutions. Academic sanctions should be introduced instead,” Bekeshev noted.
Gulzat Isamatova supported his initiative and promised to create a commission that will address the issue of abolishing fines.
It should be added that there have been repeated expressions of dissatisfaction in society regarding the collection of money for missed classes, as well as the high cost of contracts at universities in the country. Over the past two years, the expenses for obtaining higher education in Kyrgyzstan have significantly increased.
