Starting from 2026, the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia" will begin centralized procurement of medical devices and pharmaceuticals based on a list approved by the Ministry of Health of the republic.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, this year it is planned to carry out part of the procurement using mechanisms provided by organizations in the UN system. It is expected that about 30 types of medications and medical products will be purchased directly from manufacturers. This approach aims to eliminate intermediaries, ensure that products meet international quality standards, including WHO prequalification, and create competitive prices through participation in global procurement.
Currently, work is underway to prepare for the signing of contracts. Preliminary estimates suggest that using this model will save about 410 million soms compared to last year.
The procurement strategy for 2026 is aimed at reducing prices for medications, ensuring their quality and reliability of supplies, as well as increasing the efficiency of public budget expenditures.
