Switzerland was able to significantly reduce import duties in the U.S. after presenting luxurious gifts to Donald Trump. This was reported by the Axios portal.
According to the publication, a delegation of Swiss businessmen was sent to Washington, who gifted the president a gold bar weighing one kilogram and a Rolex watch. The bar was engraved with the numbers "45" and "47," symbolizing Trump's two terms as president.
Previously, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer announced a reduction in tariffs for Switzerland from 39% to 15%. In response, the Swiss side agreed to invest $200 billion in the American economy by the end of Trump's presidential term.
