On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the signing of a strategic defense agreement with Saudi Arabia, as reported by RIA Novosti.
Trump noted that this event is of historical significance: “We have just signed a strategic defense agreement. Congratulations to you on this,” he said during an official dinner at the White House, timed to the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
During the negotiations that took place the day before at the White House, the leaders of the two countries discussed a number of issues and announced a series of agreements aimed at deepening military cooperation, including arms supplies from the U.S. to the kingdom.
