The Central Bank of Turkmenistan has issued a 200 manat banknote

The new banknote release is timed to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality status. As reported by the Central Bank, the new bill is made from polymer material. The front side features the Arkadag monument, while the reverse side displays the administrative building of the city of Arkadag.

In addition, updated polymer banknotes with denominations of 1, 5, and 10 manats have been introduced into circulation. Their design and color remain the same, but they have added the emblem of the International Year of Peace and Trust, which has been declared for 2025.

The Central Bank noted that the new banknotes have a high level of protection against counterfeiting and are resistant to various external factors such as pollution and wear. The security features have also been enhanced, and the visual characteristics confirming their authenticity have been improved.

At the same time, banknotes issued in 2009, 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2020 remain valid for transactions within Turkmenistan.

For many years, the official exchange rate of the Turkmen manat has been 3.5 per dollar, while on the black market, the real rate fluctuates between 19 and 20 manats per dollar.
