Engineers from China have successfully tested a platform based on magnetic levitation, which managed to reach a record speed of 700 km/h in just two seconds. This was reported by China Central Television.

The tests were conducted on a special 400-meter test track, where the platform not only accelerated to its maximum speed but was also successfully brought to a stop. This result set a new world record for electromagnetic structures of this type.

The technology was developed by specialists from the Defense Science and Technology University in Changsha, Hunan Province. Research in the field of magnetic levitation has been ongoing for the last ten years.

According to the television channel, this achievement opens new horizons for the creation of vacuum transport based on electromagnetic propulsion, and it may also be used in new methods for launching and testing aerospace systems.
