According to the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), since 2020, a total of 129 marriages have been registered between citizens of Kyrgyzstan and China.

Special attention is drawn to the fact that most of these unions are formed among representatives of various ethnic groups, including Uighurs and Dungans, who marry citizens of the People's Republic of China from their communities. At the same time, only 44 marriages have been registered between the titular nation and Chinese (Han) citizens, and the majority of these families have moved to China for permanent residence.

The GKNB also noted that these processes do not affect the overall demographic picture in Kyrgyzstan.

The press service emphasizes that the figures mentioned are related to an increase in provocative and unfounded statements on social media about mass marriages between citizens of Kyrgyzstan and China. The GKNB warns of possible criminal liability for actions that may incite racial, ethnic, national, religious, or interregional hatred.
