The recording of the meeting was posted on the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The video shows several men in foreign military uniforms, but their identities are not disclosed. At the beginning of the meeting, Kostiukov introduced himself to those present.
The admiral handed a representative of the USA an item in a transparent bag, specifying that it was a "controller and its description prepared by our experts." He added that the data provided should "dispel all doubts and help establish the truth."
According to Kostiukov, Russian intelligence services decrypted the data from the drone navigation controllers and concluded that the target of the attack was allegedly a complex of buildings belonging to the President of the Russian Federation in the Novgorod region.
Since December 29, the Russian side has claimed that Ukraine attempted to attack Vladimir Putin's residence using strike drones, which they claim were shot down. Initially, no evidence was presented, but later images of drone wreckage appeared, without specifying the time and place of their capture. Subsequently, it was reported that their flight program had been decrypted, according to which, in the version of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the drones were headed towards Valdai.
Ukraine categorically rejected the accusations of attempting such an attack. It is worth noting that the main recipient of the Russian accusations was the USA: on December 29, Vladimir Putin informed US President Donald Trump about this incident during a phone call. At the same time, American media, citing sources, reported that US intelligence agencies, including the CIA, concluded that the Ukrainian drones were not aimed at the residence of the President of Russia and conveyed this information to the head of the White House.
