Mickey Rourke, expressing his opinion in a video on Instagram, learned about the GoFundMe fundraising campaign that reached $100,000 only after it had started. The campaign was initiated to help the actor avoid eviction from his apartment in Los Angeles.

Over the past month, the 73-year-old actor and former wrestler was served with a notice to pay overdue rent of $59,100 within three days or leave the apartment. In response to this, the campaign was launched to "cover urgent housing expenses."

In his video, Rourke noted that he was "confused" and "upset" that someone created such a campaign without his knowledge. "This is not about me, you understand? If I really needed money, I wouldn't turn to charity," the actor stated.

He also added, addressing the person who organized the fundraising: "I don't know what a GoFundMe fund is. My life is simple, and I wouldn't ask strangers for help."

The campaign was launched by a woman named Leah-Joel Jones, who introduced herself as the assistant to Rourke's manager, Kimberly Hines. She claimed that the initiative was "created with Mickey's full permission."

However, Rourke characterized this campaign in his video as "shameful," adding: "But I'm sure I'll handle this, just like everything else."
