Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov called Central Asia 'ours'

He emphasized that it is important for Russia to clearly formulate its strategic objectives

During the show "Solovyov Live," the host noted that instead of getting distracted by events in Syria and Venezuela, Russia should focus on issues concerning the near abroad.

“The situation in Armenia is much more critical for us than what is happening in Venezuela. Losing Armenia will be a serious problem. Issues in our Asia, especially in Central Asia, can have colossal consequences for us,” Solovyov added.

He also emphasized that Russia needs to “clearly define its goals and objectives” and declare that “the games are over.”

“We must ignore international law and order. If we initiated a special military operation in Ukraine to ensure our national security, then why can’t we take similar actions in other countries within our sphere of influence?” the TV presenter noted.

In his opinion, Russia should develop a “national doctrine” that clearly outlines its zones of influence.
