During a briefing for journalists, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the recent U.S. military operation in Venezuela, during which Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were arrested and taken out of the country.

With irony, he remarked: "What can I say? If dictators can be dealt with in this way, then the U.S. certainly knows how to proceed with them in the future." However, he did not specify who he was referring to.

Local media interpreted this statement as a hint at Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that Kyiv does not recognize the legitimacy of Nicolás Maduro's regime, citing election fraud and acts of violence against protesters. "We advocate for the development of the situation in accordance with international norms, emphasizing democracy, human rights, and the interests of the Venezuelan people," he noted in his message on social media platform X.
