Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the key document will be the security guarantees agreement, which will include confidential appendices and information on support for the Ukrainian army. In addition, the first drafts of the agreement on the country's reconstruction have already been prepared.
“We have done everything necessary to prepare the first drafts, and they are almost 90% ready. These are the details that matter to us: what our army and Ukraine can expect after signing, how strong we can become,” Zelensky stated during a speech at the Diplomatic Academy.
In his Telegram channel, the President of Ukraine published a list of security guarantees that the Ukrainian side hopes to receive from Europe and the USA.
- The Armed Forces of Ukraine will increase to 800,000 personnel, and Ukraine expects funding from partners to support this number.
- The country is striving for membership in the European Union.
- A “coalition of willing” from 30 countries will ensure Ukraine's security in air, land, and maritime spaces, as well as in the areas of energy, finance, and humanitarian assistance.
- The USA will provide legally binding security guarantees, which will be supported by the American Congress, as well as a “deterrence package” — weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zelensky also reported that the Ukrainian delegation recently held talks with the administration of Donald Trump in the USA and is now returning to Kyiv. “The Americans continue negotiations with representatives of Russia, and after that, we will receive feedback from them. We provided them with all the necessary information,” added the President of Ukraine.
