Valery Fadeev, who heads the Council under the President of Russia for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, has proposed granting schools the right to independently decide on the enrollment of migrant children. He noted that it is important to trust teachers and school principals.

“The school should decide for itself whether to accept a child or not, as it will be responsible for educating them. This, in my opinion, is a key point,” Fadeev expressed his position.

In his opinion, work with children arriving in the country should begin immediately.

“This is not a violation of rights, but a significant achievement of civilization — all children should have the opportunity to learn,” he added.

Earlier, in early October, Fadeev pointed out that hundreds of thousands of migrant children in Russia do not attend school. He emphasized the need to teach children the Russian language in advance. If a child is not ready for education in Russian schools, they should continue their education in their home country.

We remind you that from April 1, 2025, tests on knowledge of the Russian language will be introduced in Russia for migrant children wishing to enroll in schools. Rosobrnadzor previously reported that when enrolling in educational institutions, these children must possess minimal knowledge corresponding to general education programs.

In addition, it has become known that Russia plans to tighten the requirements for Russian language exams for labor migrants.
