The issue of testing migrant children upon their admission to Russian schools has become relevant due to new mandatory requirements. Bakyt Darmankul uulu, the Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration, raised this problem at a press conference on December 18, responding to a related question.

According to Darmankul uulu, this topic has been discussed at a high level and has already been submitted for consideration by the presidents.

“Rospotrebnadzor has developed tests, and we discussed them at the EEC platform. These tests contain complex questions, and even their creators acknowledge this. Not only migrant children but also Russian schoolchildren may struggle with these tasks. We brought this issue up for discussion, as it affects not only the children of labor migrants but also the children of diplomats and EEC employees. We reviewed the tests on the Rospotrebnadzor website. I also raised this issue in the State Duma and jokingly mentioned that I myself faced difficulties when taking these tests. Furthermore, instructions have been given by the presidents to address this problem,” he noted.
