
According to information provided by MiddleAsianNews, the average price for male horses in Mongolia has reached ₮2.6 million (about $730.34).
Based on data from the National Statistical Office, announced on January 12, prices for horses as of December 2025 increased by ₮1.7 million compared to the previous year. This confirms the trend of rising livestock prices in the country.

Research over the past year has shown a noticeable increase in prices in other segments of animal husbandry as well. For instance, the price of five-year-old stallions, or soёolon azraga, has risen to ₮1.3 million (about $365.17). The prices for four-year-old bulls have increased to ₮1.9 million (approximately $533.71), while the cost of rams has reached ₮300,000 (close to $84.27). At the same time, prices for male goats have risen to ₮210,000 (approximately $58.99) compared to the same period last year.
It should also be noted that there are price differences in various regions of the country. In December 2025, the highest average price for males was recorded in the Sukhbaatar aimag at ₮2.6 million (approximately $730.34), while the lowest price was recorded in the Bayan-Ölgii aimag at ₮1.35 million (about $379.21).
Additionally, prices for related raw materials have also increased. The average cost of cowhide longer than two meters reached ₮16,900 (about $4.75) in December 2025, which is ₮7,000 (approximately $1.97) more than in the same period of the previous year. Furthermore, the average price per kilogram of white cashmere was ₮113,000 (approximately $31.74).
