
The export increased by 28.7% in value compared to the previous year.
As part of the national program for the development of this industry, investments of ₮198 billion ($57.5 million) are planned to expand the processing capacities of enterprises in Mongolia.
By 2028, the authorities aim to achieve 100% primary processing of cashmere in the domestic market and 40% deep processing.
According to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia, the expected revenue from cashmere exports in the country could amount to around $700 million.
Currently, about 50 enterprises specializing in cashmere processing operate in Mongolia, with a total processing capacity of 119,000 tons of raw cashmere.
