The total number of foreign tourists who visited Mongolia in January 2026 was 35,308 people.
According to information provided by the Mongolian Tourism Organization, there is an increase in this figure compared to the same time last year. On January 22 alone, 1,440 foreign tourists arrived in the country.
As for the countries of origin, tourists arrived in Mongolia in the following numbers:
China – 14,220
Russia – a significant number
South Korea – 2,588
Japan – 776
Kazakhstan – 630
USA – 528
Visitors also actively came from Belarus, the Philippines, France, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and other countries. The number of tourists from Europe and distant countries shows a positive trend. Tourism experts note that this growth is due to active policies in the areas of borders, transportation, and the market, as well as improvements in international promotion of winter and cultural tourism.
