Iranian authorities published the names of 3,000 victims of the unrest

In a message posted on social media platform X, it was stated that the list includes the names, surnames, patronymics, and the last six digits of the identification cards of the victims. Out of the 3,117 mentioned in the list, the names of 2,986 individuals have already been identified, while investigations are ongoing for 131 individuals. To gather information about the deceased and injured, the Iranian administration has created a new agency. The official statement reads: "A system has been developed that will allow for the verification and confirmation of any new information without bureaucratic obstacles and with respect for citizens' privacy."
Protests in Iran began on December 28 against the backdrop of a sharp decline in the national currency and a surge in prices. Protesters demanded a change of government. Meanwhile, the authorities denied rumors that the number of victims could reach 30,000. The authorities announced the suppression of the unrest on January 21.
