The primary source of Musk's wealth is his stake in the combined company SpaceX and xAI, which is approximately 43% and valued at $542 billion. He also owns about 12% of Tesla shares, worth $178 billion, and stock options for the company, valued at $124 billion.
In the past four months, Musk has set several records: in October 2025, he became the first person with a net worth of $500 billion, on December 15 he surpassed the $600 billion mark, and shortly thereafter his capital exceeded $700 billion.
