In his address, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, conveyed sincere condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in connection with the loss of life resulting from the terrorist attack that occurred on February 6 in Islamabad.

Japarov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan firmly condemns terrorism and all its forms that threaten peace and stability worldwide. He reaffirmed the country's commitment to developing international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and other global security challenges.

It should be noted that on February 6, an explosion occurred on the outskirts of Islamabad, near a Shia mosque in the Tarlai Kalan area, during Friday prayers. According to foreign sources, at least 31 people were killed, and many others were injured. The investigation is considering the version of a terrorist attack involving a suicide bomber: the suspect was stopped at the entrance to the mosque, after which he detonated the explosive device. At the time of the explosion, hundreds of worshippers were inside the mosque, and among the injured are those in critical condition. Pakistani authorities do not rule out an increase in the death toll. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack; the area is cordoned off, and the investigation is ongoing.
