According to a report by the British publication Financial Times, anti-government protests have erupted again in Iran. Students began their actions on the first day of the new academic semester, clashing with pro-government groups on university campuses.

In particular, protesters gathered on the campuses of Amir Kabir University of Technology and Sharif University, where on February 21 they expressed their dissatisfaction by shouting slogans against the authorities and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The publication also emphasizes that these events are occurring against the backdrop of deteriorating relations between Iran and the United States.

Mass protests in the country began in December 2025, triggered by the devaluation of the national currency, but soon transformed into actions against the authorities. During these events, there have been reports of internet outages and casualties among both protesters and law enforcement, with estimated losses reaching around two thousand people.

Iranian authorities have accused the U.S. and Israel of inciting unrest and stated on January 12 that they have managed to control the situation.
