Keir Starmer stated that the United Kingdom did not participate in the strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran, as he believes that the conflict can only be resolved through diplomatic means. Nevertheless, he emphasized that Iran's actions pose a threat to the security of the United Kingdom and its allies.

According to the Prime Minister, British military personnel are already involved in defensive operations and are helping to intercept Iranian attacks. He added that to neutralize the threat, it is necessary to destroy missiles directly at their storage and launch sites.

Starmer noted: "The U.S. requested permission to use British bases for this specific and limited defensive task. We have decided to grant this request."

He also clarified that the United Kingdom is not joining the attacks but continues to support defensive actions in the region.

Additionally, London plans to involve Ukrainian specialists to assist Gulf countries in combating Iranian drones.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Kyiv's readiness to share its experience in countering missile and drone attacks, adding that even countries with the most advanced air defense systems face difficulties in protection.

Zelensky emphasized: "We are ready to share this experience and provide assistance to those nations that supported Ukraine."

It is worth noting that on February 28, the U.S. and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran, during which, according to reports, high-ranking military officials and Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei were killed.

In response, Iran attacked Israel and locations housing American forces in Gulf countries, as well as announced the establishment of a transitional governing body following Khamenei's death.
